Avro Lancaster

A solid Sterling silver, scale model of an Avro Lancaster bomber, well observed with moving propellers, gun turrets and engraved windows and wing details. The inclined model is raised up on a swept cantilevered arm and mounted on a circular black lacquered base. The tail bears maker’s marks and Hallmarks for London, 2007.

Wingspan: 8½ inches (22 cm)

Avro’s heavy bomber, developed from the Manchester by Roy Chadwick, was primarily a night bomber and won its spurs in countless raids over enemy occupied territory, not least in the famous ‘Dam Busters’ raid in 1943.
