Alain Lévesque (Canadian, b.1956)

‘Oldsmobile Toronado 66’

Original acrylic on canvas painted in 1995 of the classic American front-wheel-drive coupé. Framed with a contemporary metal frame, and unglazed.

Size: 31 x 26½ inches (78 x 67 cm)

Alain Lévesque trained in graphic arts at the Université du Québec in Montreal. Launching his career as a graphic artist in the 1980s, he won the Montreal World Film Festival poster design competition, five years in a row.

Heavily influenced by European art and design movements from the early 20th century such as Cubism, Italian Futurism and Bauhaus, Levesque has developed a unique and distinctive style of automotive art.
