A beautifully modelled mid-century lidded ice bucket in the form of a Sugar Apple and made by Italian designer Mauro Manetti, circa 1960. The lid lifts via a gilded ‘stalk’ set to the top and reveals a white enamel liner on the interior. The silvered body of the bucket bears maker’s marks to the underside. Manetti created several novelty ice bucket designs, featuring fruit such as pineapples and animals including owls and ducks.
