Asprey & Co: a very important example of the novelty ‘Dumb Bell’ cocktail shaker introduced by Asprey in 1932, this made in Sterling silver in 1935 – a time when Asprey were Britain’s leading designers, manufacturers and retailer of luxury novelty items. Originally made in silver-plate and retailed in pairs, this may have been a special-order piece given that examples from the date in Sterling silver are virtually unheard of, making this a special piece indeed. Hallmarked Asprey & Co., 1935.

Height: 9 inches (23 cm).
