A superb and very rare Sterling silver cigarette box, manufactured by Garrard to commemorate the 600th anniversary of the granting of the charter to The Goldsmith’s Company, the lid with the company’s full coat of arms in relief, the side engraved ‘The Gift of The Goldsmith’s Company AD 1327 – 1927’ the interior engraved ‘Presented to William August Steward, Liveryman of The Goldsmith’s Company’. Stamped Garrard and Co Ltd, Albemarle Street, London W1′ hallmarked London 1927, complete with original Garrard’s box marked William Steward.
