(On left) an extraordinary and early silvered-bronze figure, circa 1910 of St. Christopher carrying the Christ child on his shoulders, the figure standing astride a deep sôcle made to resemble a mountain, with a motorcar climbing at his feet. The sôcle is stamped ‘ST. CHRISTOPHE GUIDEZ NOUS’, with maker’s signature ‘H BRIAND EDITEUR PARIS’. The figure is mounted on a deep marbre rouge plinth and to the front is affixed a silver and enamel plaque surrounded by flashes of blue and white.

(On right) an elegant and unusual dashboard clock featuring St. Christopher in enamel to the centre, surrounded by the words ‘SAINT CHRISTOPHER LOOK AT ME AND BE SAFE’. The clock face with deep blue chapter ring, with azure blue outer ring has gilded numerals and is wound and set when affixed to the dash, by rotating the silvered knurled bezel which has a concentric leaf and floral motif. The clock is complete with a circular pigskin presentation case. French, circa 1930s.
