(Bottom centre) Cartier: a superb bespoke Art Deco Sterling silver and enamel one-pint hipflask, the front of the flask profusely enamelled with 13 semaphore flag symbols, spelling a message presumably to the recipient of the gift, to the bottom right an engraved facsimile signature, beneath the lift arm of the bayonet cap, the marks CARTIER, STERLING 7592 1 PT.

(Bottom right) A superb bespoke Art Deco Sterling silver and enamel cigarette case, the top-hinged lid profusely enamelled with the 40 semafore flag symbols denoting the International code of signals and the ten numeral pennants, the interior engraved ‘To you, with all my love for today, for tomorrow and all eternity, Neil, March 17th 1955’. The rear featuring similar flag symbols denoting storm warnings and weather forecasts. Marked STERLING to the arm on the interior.
