West Virginia Glass Company: a very large, baluster shaped black ‘onyx’ glass shaker with 20 silk screened recipes applied to the body, including some less traditional ones like ‘Jersey Lightening’, ‘Harmony’ and ‘Alexander’, with chrome-plated cap with integral strainer. Height: 12 inches (31 cms). American, circa 1930’s.

A very rare ‘Thirst Extinguisher’ cocktail shaker in clear glass with a chrome plated ‘cap’ with integral strainer and applied cocktail recipes in red running around the glass body. Modelled after an English fire extinguisher, 29 cms (11 inches) high, American, most likely by the West Virginian Glass Company, circa.1930’s.

An unusual cocktail shaker in the style of a ‘Tells-U-How’ with integral strainer and lift-off cap, with a silver-plated sleeve which can be rotated to display the gilded inner body with stamped recipes including ‘Brandy’ , ‘Pernod’, ‘Between’, ‘Dry Martini’ and ‘Palm Beauch’(sic). English, circa 1930s. Height: 9½ inches (24 cms).
