Domo of Milan, 1949
An all too rare example by Turin toymaker Domo of the famous Maserati 4CL. The electronically- powered racing voiturette retaining the model’s driver – especially rare – and featuring forward and reverse steering control.
Presented in remarkable original condition in fitted wooden box, with printed Domo label – another rare survivor from the year of manufacture, 1949.
Length overall: 18 inches (45 cm).
The 1939 Tripoli Grand Prix marked the debut of the 1,500cc 4CL, driven by Italian ace Luigi Villoresi, who took the laurels in a similar car in the 1940 Targa Florio. Post-war, the monoposto scored numerous competition successes in the international voiturette class, notably in the hands of spirited privateers.
