Hermès Paris: (shown on left) a very rare and unusual desk clock designed by Paul Dupré-Lafon (1900- 1971) for Hermès, the arched clock case made of laminated handstitched leather, the 8-day mechanical clock movement with a cream enamel face with pierced black enamel hands, and featuring gilded metalwork. Marked HERMÈS PARIS to the clock face and stamped 023924 to the reverse of the movement. French, circa 1940s.

(On right) Steering time: a rare ‘steering wheel’ clock with a red hand-stitched leather surround, four gilded spokes and a circular cutaway easel back to allow it to stand, with 8-day mechanical movement, and hand-painted gilt numerals, signed HERMÈS PARIS to the face. In a bespoke grey grosgrain Hermès presentation case (not shown).
