Fritz Boscovits (Swiss, 1871-1965)

Rare original poster printed by Wolfensberger of Zurich. Conservation linen mounted on heavy-grade linen and unframed.

Size: 50 x 36 inches (128 x 90 cm).

Notes: The painter, caricaturist and graphic designer Fritz Boscovits(Swiss, 1871-1965) both exhibited his own paintings at the Kunsthaus, Zurich’s main art museum, and was also regularly commissioned to create posters for their exhibitions. This particular poster advertises the museum’s masked ball, an annual event organised by the museum’s Art Society and held at the prestigious Baur au Lac hotel.

Boscovits, as a board member of the Art Society, was one of the founders and organisers of this event, which became a highlight of Zurich’s ball season for decades to come.
