Snow biz: Impressively vivid image evoking the wonderful physical presence and interest of a landscape defined by its dramatic rock and ice scenery. Newspapers featured regular reports on the unique charm of the fashionable pursuit of winter pastimes, telling readers what the well-equipped traveller might require: an umbrella, peppermints and a whistle to attract attention for those venturing far from hotel life to the snowy hills were considered de rigueur. Competition between resorts was fierce, but few enjoyed the reputation of Gstaad, frequented in both summer and winter.

Painted in gouache on art board, this artwork is supplied mounted and unframed. Designed by our sister gallery and painted by leading artist Charles Avalon, this striking, original artwork was commissioned to create the famous limited-edition poster produced by Pullman Editions. Please note that this unique, one-off artwork is sold strictly without Copyright.
