Geo Ham (Georges Hamel, French 1900-1972)

A very rare, original large-format poster created for the ACF (Automobiles Club de France) in 1935 by Geo Ham. Conservation linen mounted and framed to edge in a plain black oak frame.

For almost 30 years from 1926, Georges Hamel created several posters for the French Grand Prix and this is regarded as his finest work. Very few examples are known and we are excited to offer this excellent poster for sale.

The 1935 event culminated in a virtual photo-finish, Caracciola just beating von Brauchitsch by less than one second!

Size: 66 x 51 inches (168 x 130 cm)
