‘Field Gun’ bottle holder, 1868

Atkin Brothers (Sheffield): A silver-plated novelty bottle holder in the form of a field gun, with design registration marks for 1868, the ‘gun’ created by the bottle when in position. The carriage finely detailed with bottle-collar secured with a chain to enable different sized bottles to be positioned, a ramrod attached to the rear, and a stylized ‘chock’ to position under the wheel to stop it from rolling on the table. English, circa 1868.
