Price Code: SOLD
Reference: 5478
Emmanuel Zurini (French, b. 1942): ‘DBR/1’, a superb bronze sculpture in Zurini’s signature semi-abstract style, in classic verdigris-patinated bronze on a honed limestone base. Signed and numbered 3/8 and dated 2009. Complete with original fitted travelling case.
The most successful Aston Martin competition car, and undoubtedly the most beautiful, the DBR/1 won the 1959 Le Mans 24 hour race at the hands of Carol Shelby and Roy Salvadori. One of the world’s most important and desirable cars, only a handful of DBR/1s exist, and rank alongside Ferrari’s 250 GTO in terms of value.
Length: 19 inches (48 cms).
