A pair of decorative and impressive silver-plated table lamps, in the form of classical fluted columns, each with a triple stepped base and acanthus leaf detailing to the capitals. The Corinthian style was more complex and elaborate than the earlier Doric and Ionic styles and because of its more opulent decoration of leaves and flowers, Corinthian columns were rarely used as porch columns for domestic architecture. The style survives as features of grander public architecture, such as government buildings.

Height of each lamp base: 27½ inches (70 cm)
Footprint of base: 8 inches (20 cm)
