Lapparra Orfèvre Argentier, Paris: a very stylish silver-plated Art Deco trophy cup and cover with lid, the facetted body mounted on a thick black marble base, the lid with matching black Bakelite finial, with stepped Art Deco handles to each side. Bearing plaque for Lapparra orfèvre, Paris, with a silver plaque to the front indicating its use as a presentation trophy in a Ski-ing tournament. French, circa 1930.
Dimensions: Height 14 inches (36 cms) & marble base 7½ inches (19 cms) squared.
Additional Notes: Founded in 1893, the Lapparra workshop is one of the last historical silversmiths’ workshops still in activity in the Marais, the traditional Parisian silversmiths’ neighbourhood.
