Three Sterling silver Art Deco cigar boxes, perfectly illustrating the beauty of shagreen (from the top down):

An extremely large Sterling silver cigar box, profusely decorated with panels of applied shagreen, with a facetted lid and bundle of three realistically cast silver faux cigars set on a silver plinth in the centre. Unusual to have panels covering the entire body, no expense has been spared and this box has a cedar-lined interior with gilt-lined lid. Stamped with maker’s marks for Shreve, Crump & Low, Massachusetts purveyors of jewellery, watches and fine gifts since 1796. American, circa 1930.
