A collection of 18 original pencil and watercolour designs (framed as four groups), painted by Margaret Bennett for Alfred Dunhill’s ‘Aquarium’ model of cigarette boxes and humidors. The illustrations feature cover and side-panel designs and have been annotated in-house by Dunhill with particular attention to the final dimensions and notes on the positioning of the images.
Very few of the boxes with ‘Aquarium’ panels were actually created and the ones that were, were very special orders. Each of these designs are reverse-signed by the artist and are framed with acid-free window mounts and plain section, light oak frames. All English, circa 1950.
