Dunhill ‘Sylph Rule’, & ‘Baby Sylph’ lighters

(On left) A table lighter known as the Sylph Rule, a design introduced by Dunhill in 1954 as a smaller variation of the earlier Foot Rule (See Refs 5421 & 6104). The silver-plated body is calibrated up to 6 inches (or 15 cm), and comes with a bespoke presentation case. Stamped Dunhill SYLPH to the base. English, circa 1954.

(Right) An extremely scarce, miniature (and completely operational)cigarette lighter by Alfred Dunhill known as the Baby Sylph, with a traditional lift-arm mechanism and a vertical, reeded design to the diminutive silver-plated body. The base stamped Dunhill MADE IN ENGLAND, and the lighter is complete with a bespoke ‘ring-sized’ leather presentation case. English, circa 1953.

Height: a diminutive 12 mms!
