Jaeger le Coultre for Hermès, Paris

A fine quality and very heavy gauge desk or mantel clock in the form of a ship’s porthole. The heavy silver-plated circular frame surrounding a gilded face with classic numerals, seen behind a hinged ‘porthole’ with glass window and a single threaded latch or ‘dog’, enabling access to the movement behind.

Marked Jaeger le Coultre and Hermès to the clock face. French, circa 1950s.
