Crans-Montana, 1945
A highly unusual, carved pinewood sculptural trophy for the Crans bobsleigh race, depicting two birds of prey at rest upon a rocky mountainside, set on a plain angular plinth bearing a plaque which reads ‘Challenge Offert de Mr. Louis Rey Combustibles, Crans’.
To the front is an inlaid silver medal depicting a four man bobsleigh team, most likely a competitors medal for the event. Swiss, dated 1945.
Height: 19 inches (49 cm).
Base: 7 inches (18 cm) square.
