An Art Moderne cocktail shaker made by the International Silver Company of Meriden, Connecticut, circa 1940. This heavy silver-plated shaker with concentric details to the body and foot, has ten cocktail names engraved on the top of the collar for identification of the contents, indicated via a rotating finial. Height overall: 11 inches (28 cm).

An extremely scarce ‘Empire’ cocktail shaker in polished chrome with Bakelite detailing, designed by William Archibald Welden for Revere Copper & Brass Co. of Rome, NY in 1938, this model features in the Stephen Visakay book ‘Vintage Bar Ware’ (1997), as well as ‘The Cocktail Shaker’ by Simon Khachadourian (2000) as an icon of Modernist cocktail shaker design. Height: 12 inches (30 cm).

A tall and very elegant cylindrical shaker with side handle, made by the American firm Napier, the bayonet-fitting cap with Georg Jensen-style scrolled finial, opens to reveal a pouring spout inside. American, circa 1930s. Height: 12 inches (30 cm).
