Ceramic 'Racing-Car' lamp, c. 1930s

An exceptionally rare Art Deco ceramic table lamp in the form of a stylized sports racing-car, the white glaze highlighted with gold detailing and the number '2' to the sides of the bonnet, electrically powered, the light emitting from the two open headlamp apertures, signed 'Aladin'. French, c 1930s.

Note: only two other examples of this rare lamp are recorderd, one in orange and one in blue. Both were in the famous Raymond Holland collection of Automobile Art in Allentown, PA (now dispursed) and are illustrated in 'The Motor Car in Art' by John Zolomij.
