Charles Avalon

This striking, original artwork is for the famous poster published by our sister gallery Pullman Editions Ltd.

The original Coppo d’Oro Villa d’Este was staged in 1929 by the Automobile Club of Como at the wondrously grand hotel, a worthy rival to concours held in Paris, Monaco and elsewhere. The gloriously special 250 GT Lusso was one of the jewels in the carmaker’s crown. The scene-stealing prototype, designed by Pininfarina and built by Sergio Scaglietti, was the highlight of the 1962 Paris Salon. “We worked as one with Ferrari” said Scaglietti. The concorso was not held in 1963, yet is imaginatively depicted here by Charles Avalon.

Designed by our sister gallery and painted by leading artists, these striking, original artworks have been commissioned for the famous limited-edition posters produced by Pullman Editions since 2010.

These newly commissioned poster artworks feature glamorous destinations around the world, ski resorts in the European Alps, as well as the world’s greatest historic automobiles on the road and track. Each artwork portrays the essence of glamour from a bygone era, in the timeless Art Deco style.

Painted in gouache on art board, the artworks are supplied mounted and unframed.

Artwork size: 30 x 20½ inches (76 x 52 cm)

Please note that these unique, one-off artworks are sold strictly without Copyright.
