A magnificent and unique large-scale aluminium model of the 1938 Alfa-Romeo Tipo 308 ‘c’ Grand Prix racing car, in Elwell’s signature style of hand formed aluminium panels riveted over a space frame, the cast aluminium wheels with hand turned hardwood tyres and seat, interior detailing etc, complete with hardwood plinth bearing signed and dated plaque, numbered 1/1 2007.
Length of car: 105 cm (42 inches).
Note: in common with ball of John Elwell’s works, this model is a unique, one-off piece, taking approximately 400 hours to design and construct from scratch.
