ATO: a very stylish glass Art Deco mantel clock by ATO. Highly unusual as to the face, the numerals are frosted glass, contrasted against the pale pink tinted-mirror face, with silver-plated ‘spoon’ finial hands, and a red painted interior, visible behind the electro-magnetic mechanism. With a black Bakelite, triple stepped base. French, circa 1930s.

Leon Hatot (ATO is the diminutive of his surname) patented prototypes of the electromagnetic clock based on an original 1922 design by Marcel Lavet.
