Crowned Skull Clock with Hidden Pillbox

Delisle Freres, Moricond (est. 1755): a heavy, silvered bronze combination ‘Doctor’s’ pillbox/clock which would have been presented to a doctor by a grateful patient following a positive diagnosis, the skull with ornate crown, which is hinged to the back, and when lifted reveals a pocket clock, with Roman numerals and four skull details to the quarter hours on the clock face, with original key, and movement revealed by removing the lower jaw (the pillbox). Made by Delisle Freres of Geneva, (est. 1755), and made circa 1780. Set within a bespoke, black calfskin presentation case. Skull measures 3 inches (8 cms) in height.
