Picnic set by Louis Vuitton, Paris

A magnificent and very rare all-pigskin picnic set created by Louis Vuitton circa 1920, the exterior with fitted top handle, the interior with a blond ‘Vuittonite’ panel, with leather stays, holding the silver-plated dinner plates, with cutlery for four, and a selection of silver-plated sandwich boxes and gilt lined cups, all stamped to the underside Paris Louis Vuitton, London. The case, in highly desirable honey-coloured pigskin, with all brass locks, studs and clasps, and brass panel bearing the original owners name, the set in excellent condition and rarely, if ever, used.
