Bugatti Type 35 by ACA, c. 1975

Price Code: SOLD

Reference: 5479

Art Collection Auto, Vichy, France: a superb 1:8 scale model of the Bugatti Type 35 – winner of the 1924 Grand Prix of Lyons- a finely detailed all-metal enthusiast’s model, circa 1975, in excellent condition complete with original display case and with bronze plaques, and very rare original portfolio of drawings and photographs.

Length: 18½ inches (47 cms).

Additional Notes: Art Collections Auto (ACA) was established in 1974 by Jean-Paul Fontenelle and its first model, the Type 35 Bugatti was unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March 1975. Described by Roland Bugatti himself as a ‘tour de force’ of model-making, the Type 35 was launched at the scarcely believable price of GB £1,500 at a time when a Ferrari 250 GT California Spider SWB made only £3,800 at auction!

Unsurprisingly few were sold. ACA launched a second model the following year (an 8 litre Bentley), but collapsed soon after.
